Schaeffer to be honored at Fall Gather

Longtime West Texas A&M University supporter Dr. Stanley Schaeffer, formerly of Dimmitt, will be honored at the third Fall Gather at WTAMU on Sept. 27.The event, a celebration of Panhandle agriculture, is put on by students in WT’s Department of Agricultural Sciences.

DVFD golf tourney set for Sept. 20

The Dimmitt Volunteer Fire Department golf tournament will be held in conjunction with the Pink Ladies Highway to Hell-0 Terlingua chili cookoff at the Dimmitt Country Club on Sept. 20.

DPD to host National Night Out

The Dimmitt Police Department will be hosting its “National Night Out” on Oct. 7.The 2025 site for the event will be at the Dimmitt Splash Pad (currently under construction) on Western Circle Drive and will begin at 5 p.m.

Harvest Days Fair gearing up

The Castro County Harvest Days Fair is fast approaching for lots of fun and competition on Sept. 27 to be held on the Dimmitt town square.This year will feature bounce houses, goat roping, corn hole tournaments, fair entries, live music and street dance, and food vendors among many other activities.
