State sales tax revenue $4.2B in July

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.19 billion in July, 4.9 percent more than in July 2024. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.

Abbott orders arrest of missing House Democrats

Governor Greg Abbott on Monday ordered the arrest of 51 delinquent Texas House Democrats after they fled the state to stop a vote on proposed congressional redistricting and effectively shutting down all legislation on the whole special session agenda.
