Cactus Theater offers summer entertainment

The Cactus Theater is now offering live entertainment following reopening after the Covid-19 pandemic. It will offer a lineup of great performers throughout the summer.

Rodriguez to graduate

Karina Rodriguez, daughter of Sonya and James Gonzalez of San Antonio, and granddaughter of Tomas and Rebecca Rodriguez, will graduate on June 11 at Alamo Stadium. Karina is the great-granddaughter of Ramona Sandoval and the late Ray Sandoval of Dimmitt, Texas.

Abbott, HHSC announce additional food benefits

Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) today announced a temporary increase in food benefits for families participating in the Texas Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) through September 2021.

Farmers eligible for premium benefit on cover crops

Farmers are eligible for a "premium benefit" of up to $5 an acre on crop insurance coverage if they planted cover crops this year, according to the USDA’s Risk Management Agency.

Area students graduate from SPC

SB 930 opens doors to assisted living transparency

Senate Bill 930 has been sent to Governor Greg Abbott after passing out of the Texas House and Senate last week. If signed by Abbott, the bill would make the number of cases of communicable disease found in in nursing, assisted living and continuing care facilities in the state.
