South Plains College in Levelland announced the students making the president’s and dean’s list for the spring semester, five of which were from Castro County.Justice Velasquez of Dimmitt was among 400 students named to the president’s list. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 4.

Last Thursday saw many Texas bills meet their demise, though hundreds did make it through to the next round.The Texas House had to meet a midnight dealine on Thursday for granting preliminary approval, with the Senate deadline being on Friday.
The Nazareth Swifts baseball team advanced to play Hamlin and winning the Regional Semifinals against O’Donnell in three games: Game 1 - Naz 1 – O’Donnell 4; Game 2 – Naz 10 – O’Donnell 6: Game 3 – Naz 14 – O’Donnell 13. The Swifts will play Hamlin on Thursday in Lamesa for the Regional title.
