The Nazareth FFA Veterinary Science teams placed fifth at the state competition held in College Station. There were 86 teams/328 students competing from across the state, 1A through 6A combined Nazareth was the only 1A school in the top 10.
The Hart Junior High tennis team competed at the District 4-1A meet. Dael Longoria and Elizabeth Carrasco placed 3rd in mixed doubles. In girls’ doubles, Yalexii Cisneros and Mia Longoria placed 3rd, and Sadie Carrasco and Camila Perez placed 4th. Savannah Corrales placed 2nd in girl’s singles, and Avram Morales is the boy’s singles champion.

Janet Sammann was sworn in as Dimmitt’s new municipal judge at City Council’s April 21meeting. The Municipal Court is established with jurisdiction over Class C traffic and criminal offenses, and municipal ordinance violations filed by police, fire marshal, code enforcement, and animal control.

The Nazareth Swifts Baseball team won the District Championship defeating Springlake, 11-0.

Uvalde Strong Act passes House

The Uvalde Strong Act (HB 33) passed with 148-0 vote in the Texas House in hopes of beefing up a better law enforcement response and protocol in active shooter situations State Rep.
Nazareth Kayle Rogers qualified for the Texas UIL State Track Meet by placing second in the Shot Put event this past weekend at the Regionals competition held at South Plains College. Coming in just shy of qualifying for state was Maddie Brockman who place third in the 400-meter dash.
