Not long ago at a class reunion, several of us got to talking about “film strips.” If you attended elementary school during the 1950s through 1970s, you may remember these visual learning tools.Because there were so many of us, states quickly constructed schools to contain us.
DISD board members Jason Nelson, Place 2 (left) and Benny Navarro, Place 4, were sworn in for threeyear terms at the recent school board meeting. The election was held on May 3 where Navarro was elected, and Jason Nelson was uncontested. Other board members include Priscilla Peralta, Place 3, Justin Edwards, Place 5, Jo Settle, Place 6, and Clay Lytle, Place 7. Position 1 is currently vacant.
