City opts for $59 million mechanical wastewater treatment plant

In what could prove an historic move in the realm of water and recyclable water policy, a two-member short Hereford City Commission authorized City Manager Ryan Polster to pursue a $59 million mechanical wastewater treatment facility for Hereford.

Archaeology is not your everyday topic in Hereford, and yet it has long been. The immediate Hereford area, particularly Tierra Blanca Creek and expanses of Deaf Smith County are home to historic features dating back to early cultures here.

La Madre Mia Study Club met at Cafe Yahweh at the Hereford First Baptist Church for their February 26 meeting with Renee Zinser and Mary Ann O’Rear co-hosting.

Incumbents carry many races in local March 3 Primary

Call it an occasion mostly for local incumbents given the results from primary voting in the March 3 Republican and Democratic primaries in Deaf Smith County.Tallies from Election Day and what seemed like busy early voting showed that only 2,198 registered voters hit the polls in Deaf Smith County.

In keeping with tradition, the Hereford Lions Club hosted its annual pancake supper on Election Day Tuesday. More than 400 people were served pancakes and sausage while helping the Lions Club raise funds towards its many local community projects.
