Central Church of Christ

The Central Church of Christ meets every Sunday at 148 Sunset, the corner of Sunset & Plains, in Hereford. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m.; Morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m.; and the Sunday evening worship begins at 6:00 p.m. We also meet every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

After 40-plus years near Main Street, Mike Harrell closing auto shop

After 40-plus years working within mostly within a oneblock area east of Main Street, Mike Harrell will be closing up shop at Mike’s Auto Repair, 143 East First, at the end of April.

The Impact of School Vouchers

Over the course of the last year, I have been asked several times about school vouchers and their impact on Hereford ISD.In answering that question, it is best to start with what a school voucher is and how it differs from charter schools and already existing open enrollment policies.
Northwest Elementary 1st Grade - Aaron Gonzalez Aaron has demonstrated significant growth in both reading and math over the course of the school year. It has been wonderful to watch his confidence grow daily, particularly through his improved communication skills. As a consistent model of ROAR behavior, Aaron sets a positive example for his peers, and HISD is incredibly proud of his hard work and dedication.

Texas cities pushing back on data center tax abatements

In Deaf Smith County solar energy projects are underway in various stages both north and south of the general Dawn area. Wind energy is a reality to the east and southeast of Hereford on the border with Castro County.
