Hereford Jubilee upcoming on August 15

The benediction bash of summer, the annual Hereford Jubilee celebrating agrarian life and community and recognizing the county’s Top Hand in farming and ranching, is set for Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in and around Dameron Park.

It was a true team win, with key victories from both the boys and girls in doubles and singles. Macy Betzen clinched the 10th win of the dual with a dominant performance in singles and doubles. In the afternoon, The Herd battled hard but came up short against Lubbock Cooper, falling 7-12.

City hears late audit report, capital expenditure ideas

In a called meeting July 27, city commissioners heard an informative presentation from Specialized Public Finance concerning capital expenditures for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, and approved a proposed tax rate for the new fiscal year.

The process of maintenance and repair of the city’s elevated and ground water storage tanks continues. USG Water Solutions is restoring city water storage tanks.On Monday of this week the City of Hereford began renovation work on the Northwest Pump Station ground storage tank.

With one vote no and one abstention, the Deaf Smith County Hospital District board voted to grant ten-year tax abatements to Intersect Power and Google LLC during a highlight portion of their regular monthly meeting at the Hereford Regional Medical Center Board Room July 23.
