The 40th Panhandle Parade of Breeds junior heifer and steer show will be held June 16, 17 and 18 at the Ollie Liner Center, Plainview, Texas. The barn opens at noon Thursday for arrival of heifers and steers. All Mini breeds must be checked in on Thursday. Showmanship entries close at 6 p.m.

This past Saturday, May 28, Dimmitt Bobcat Band percussionist Paden Mick performed in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Pflugerville, earning a 2nd Division Excellent rating for his solo performance. Paden has qualified for the TSSEC all four years in high school.

The annual Olen Schulte Rodeo and Wild West Show is on the calendar for June3-4 and will prove to be as much fun as last year’s event. The rodeo will be held at Marvin Schulte’s arena five mile east of Nazareth behind Elmer’s Package Store.

The Nazareth Swifts punched their ticket to state, beating the #1 ranked Ira Bulldogs in two of three games in the Regional playoffs this past weekend. Both teams came to the Region I-1A baseball championship series undefeated.
Dimmitt High School selected its 2022-23 Student Council Board officers. Audrey Wooten will serve as president. Serving as vice presidents are Ivan Moreno, Anna Wooten, Klancy Bruton and Will VanZee.

Dimmitt High School cross country runners and tracksters Jordan Garcia and Kaylee Lujan signed letters of intent to compete at colleges. Lujan signed with Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Garcia signed with East Central University in Oklahoma.
