A generous donation of $100,000 was recently made by First United Bank (FUB) to Country View Living in Dimmitt.

The Board of Director of Plains Bancorp, Inc, the parent company of FUB announced the upcoming donation recently and the formal presentation was made on Jan. 25 at the meeting room of FUB.

CEO R. Mark Bain and other FUB officers and board members, along with Castro County Hospital District board members, CCHD administration and Country View staff were on hand for the presentation.

CCHD Chairman of the Board Jim Bradford accepted the donation on behalf of CCHD/Country View from Bain.

“Country View is such a valuable asset to the Dimmitt community, and they take such heart-felt care of each of their residents,” said Bradford, who is also a member of the FUB board of directors. “First United Bank was founded right here in Dimmitt, so it is a joy to be able to make this donation to give back to the residents who have called Dimmitt home for so many years and to help the Country View team continue the great work they do each day.”

Country View Living opened its doors to residents in early 2019 as a state-ofthe-art senior living facility with Laura Kimball as administrator, offering many comforts and amenities that include a chapel, salon, patios, siting areas and huge dining hall, a Wellness Center and Rehab area, all staffed to provide in-house services and a comfortable living space for residents with all different levels of care.

CCHD board members overseeing the management of Country View include Jim Bradford, Zach Smith, Shelley Bills, Ware Brown and Kim Birkenfeld. CCHD CEO and hospital administrator is Nathan Flood. Laura Kimball is the administrator at Country View Living.

FUB leadership includes, R. Mark Bain, CEO, Michael Bain, president, R. Scott Bentley, president, Amarillo market, David Blackburn, CFO, Rick Boyd and Phillip York, both executive vice presidents, Stuart Sutton, senior vice president, David Schaeffer, board chairman, Jim Bradford, Donny Carpenter, Johnny Trotter and Mark Nichols, all directors, Stacey Morris-Potter, COO, Rodney Ruthhart, chief credit officer, and Stanley Scheffer, director emeritus.

First United Bank was originally chartered in Dimmitt in 1907. Present management and ownership have been with FUB since January 1987. FUB currently operates 14 locations throughout 11 cities in West and North Texas. It additionally operates two mortgage origination offices under the name of Spirit Mortgage in Amarillo and Lubbock.
