The Dimmitt Bobcats were edged out by single run by the Denver City Mustangs this past Friday, 5-4.

Neither team scored in the first two innings, but the Mustangs brought in three runs in the third inning to take the lead.

The Bobcats scored two runs in the fourth inning, to narrow the Denver City lead to 3-2, but the Mustangs hitters brought in another two runs in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-2.

Dimmitt battled in the seventh inning and scored two runs but gave up the victory to the Mustangs 5-4.

Bobcats Kobe Carpio too the loss for Dimmitt, surrendering five runs on two hits over 4.1 innings and 90 pitches with 54 strikes. Kaeson Melendez pitched 1.2 innings, 14 pitches/ 11 strikes, gave up one hit and had one strikeout.
