Cemetery Association to hold annual meeting

The Dimmitt Cemetery Association will hold its 2021 Annual Meeting and workday on Memorial Day, May 31 at the cemetery.

Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery is located one mile south of Dimmit on FM 3215. Small flags will be available for placing on veteran’s graves.

The workday will start at 8 a.m. and the business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lot owners and family members are urged to use this time to help maintain and beautify the cemetery. Individuals are asked to bring their rakes, hoes, trash bags, and gloves to join in a group effort to improve the looks of the cemetery.

During the business meeting a financial statement will be presented and a list of all donations received during the last two years.

There will also be an election of three directors. The terms of Ray Bradley, Rex Lust, Delores Heller, and Ricky Kuntz are expiring. Directors serve three years.

All lot owners are eligible to serve on the board and those interested are encouraged to contact president, Charles Summers. Other members of the board are Mack Steffey, Craig Fuller, Shari Bradley, Kay Gfeller, Lester Womack, and Leta Dennis.

Donations or memorials may be sent to DCA, Box 452, Dimmitt, TX 79027. Many absentee lot owners use Memorial Day as a time to donate toward the ongoing upkeep of the cemetery. Donations are tax deductible as the cemetery corporation is 501 C13. All donations are used toward the maintenance of the cemetery and greatly appreciated.
