Castro County Sal Rivera is urging citizens to be careful of fires following a call to CR 516 last Friday where local fire departments battled a blaze in a corn field.
Rivera said conditions are dry and windy and ideal for fires to catch and spread.
With harvest underway, producers are encouraged to take time to clean and maintain their equipment.
