Dimmitt man dies in fatal crash

Three Hereford residents were injured, and a Dimmitt man died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident about 1 ½ miles south of Hereford on Thursday morning. The initial report by Texas DPS troopers indicated a 2022 Ford Explorer, driven by Jaylee Edwards, 25 of Hereford, was traveling northbound on US 385, and struck the rear of a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Lina Vallejo, 36 of Hereford, forcing the vehicle into the southbound lane where it was hit head-on by a 2004 Freightliner truck tractor semitrailer driven by Rosendo Rodriguez, 52 of Dimmitt.

Gfeller wins bid for county judge

The mid-term elections are over, the polls are closed, and votes counted, with winners being declared across the state in districts and state level contest. Locally, Mandy Gfeller, Republican, defeated Janet Sammann, Independent, in her bid for Castro County judge, with Gfeller receiving 794 votes and Sammann, 661.

Abbott announces extension of emergency SNAPS
