CASTRO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Persons Arrested & Booked into Jail May 24 to June 5 All information of persons arrested and booked into the Castro County Jail are open records: May 25 Mauricio Sandoval, 24 of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and on a Castro County warrant for Violation of Probation. May 26 Cory James Back, 35 of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Criminal Trespass.

Memorial Day Meet-Up

A great group of people showed up to help at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Memorial Day. Each year, the board holds it annual meeting and workday, attending to the grounds and placing flags on veterans’ graves. The meeting is held to attend to attend to business and elect board member positions that may come available.

Medical of Center of Dimmitt accomplish mission

The Medical of Center of Dimmitt completed 110 sports physicals for Dimmitt High School students. Providers Alex Escobal and Peggy Birkenfeld, along with nurses Leandra Oltivero and Isabel Garcia, along with DHS students from the Athletic Training Program accomplished their mission.

Eight plead guilty in district court

Eight people pleaded guilty to their charges on May 26 in Judge Kregg Hukill’s district court at the Castro County courthouse. Ricardo Castillo, 49 of Hereford, pleaded guilty to the charge of deadly conduct and discharge of firearm at individuals.
