Daylight Saving Time (DST) will end at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, meaning our clocks will fall back one hour. It will be nice to reclaim the hour of sleep we lost when DST began last March.

First Methodist Church Dimmitt will be hosting a Bluegrass / Gospel group from Amarillo called “Bomb City Bluegrass”.They will perform during church at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Come join us in many familiar songs.

Voting Day Tuesday for amendment, local VATRE election

Another Election Day is on the horizon.Early voting ends tomorrow in the Texas Constitutional Amendment Election as well as a Voter- Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) for the Dimmitt Independent School District (DISD). Election Day is Tuesday with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday afternoon a pair of landspouts popped up in Castro County at around 4:30 p.m.Castro County Sheriff Sal Rivera reported the first was located at County Road 511 and County Road 613C.He added the second one was located west of County Road 510A and between Texas Highway 86 and FM 2392.
The District 2 68th Annual Gold Star Banquet was held Oct. 20. Congratulations to Castro County’s Remington Meador. He was one of the 23 honorees that night! Spencer Acker also served as one of the presenters as a part of D2 Council.
