Texas Legislature eyes four groundwater bills

The Texas Legislature is considering several bills concerning the groundwater supply in the state. Sen. Senator Charles Perry of Lubbock filed SB2440 relating to requiring certain plats for the subdivision of land to include proof of groundwater supply.

HPWD releases water level measurement report

High Plains Water District has published the results of the 2023 water level measurement, showing an average decline of -0.71 feet. The average decline was calculated in the groundwater levels of the Ogallala/Edwards- Trinity (High Plains) Aquifer (ETHP) from 2022 to 2023.
