One dead, three injured following fatal crash

The Castro County Sheriff ’s Office responded to a major wreck south of Hart at FM 168 & FM 145 last Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call.Deputies arrived to find two unresponsive people and one ambulatory person involved in the crash.

Abbott directs TCEQ To accept water offer for Rio Grande Valley

Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to accept an offer of San Juan River water from Mexico under the 1944 Water Treaty and provide muchneeded water to communities in the Rio Grande Valley, according to a press release.

State unemployment at 4.1

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Texas remained stable at 4.1 percent, the same as the September rate, though higher than October 2023 at 3.6, according to the Texas Workforce Commission and U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics U-3 report.
