NORAD gears up to track Santa

The Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) began tracking Santa Claus in 1955 and did so until CONAD was replaced with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) in 1958. NORAD’s mission, 24hours a day, 365 days a year, is to track airplanes, missiles, space launches and anything else that flies in or around the North American continent – including Santa’s sleigh and Rudolph with “his infrarednose- so-bright” signature.

Unemployment rate holds at 4.0%

Texas unemployment rates remained unchanged in November at 4.0 percent compared to October, with more than a half million people remaining unemployed. Utah had the lowest jobless rate in November, 2.2 percent.

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15 I’m no good at chess. Sadly, I’m not a very observant individual. My wife can come home from a large meeting and list the names of each person in the group and where they sat. Not me. So, when it comes to playing a grueling game of chess, I usually lose my queen within the first 5-minutes of the game because I don’t observe the danger of her next move. Needless to say, I very soon find myself in checkmate with no moves left for my king.

HB 1818 filed to curb cruel puppy mill practices

On Dec. 2, State Rep. Jared Patterson (R-Frisco) filed HB 870, which like its 2021 predecessor HB 1818, will help put an end to cruel puppy mill practices and protect both pets and consumers by requiring that only healthy animals sourced from shelters and rescues be sold in retail pet stores.

SISD Superintendent commits suicide

The Seagraves school superintendent who was under FBI investigation for invasive visual recording was found dead Friday morning from has been deemed a selfinfl icted gunshot wound. According to reports, the Shallowater Sheriff’s Offi ce answered a call this past Friday morning at a location on North FM 2378, west of Shallowater, where they found 43-year-old Joshua Neil Goen with a self-inflicted gunshot to the chest.
