The Texas Senate passed SB 912 by Sen. Dawn Buckingham which protects life and property by modifying the state’s “riot statutes.”
This bill increases the criminal penalty for rioters who intentionally target and harm first responders during a riot. SB 912 also creates a legal pathway for property owners to recover damages from rioters who destroy their property.
