Edgar Dennis was born on Feb. 12, 1937, in the home on the family farm outside of Dimmitt, Texas. He passed away, at the age of 84 on May 11, 2021 in Dimmitt. He was a lifelong resident of Dimmitt and Castro County.

Esther Torres Ortiz, 83 of Dimmitt, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Israel Olivo officiating. Viewing will be held on Friday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Braddock

Mary Ruth Braddock, 78 of Timpson, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2021, in Timpson, Texas. She was born on Nov. 19, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas, to the late Edgar Hugh and Ruth Hanson (Parker) Griffin. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Mary grew up in Amarillo.

Hill

Homer A. “Bud” Hill was born Oct. 13, 1930 in Hart, Texas. He passed away at the age of 90 on April 29, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. Bud was a life-long resident of Castro County. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at 1 p.m.

Lawrence “Smick” Schmucker, 95 of Nazareth, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 in Dimmitt, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m.

Patton

William ‘Billy’ Patton passed away in Amarillo on April 19. He was born May 2, 1967 in Hereford, Texas. He attended Dimmitt schools and was employed by Hyman Farm Service for several years. He married Raneta Adams in August 1987 in Hereford. They had one son, Rye Patton.

Quintero

San Juanita “Janie” Quintero, 68, formally of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 23 at 11 a.m. with Father Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño, and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants.

Isaguirre

Martha Isaguirre, 78, died on Friday, April 16, 2021. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, in Tulia, with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia.

Melody Kay Lilley, 40, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Nazareth, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Deacon Bob Birkenfeld officiating. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
