Bobcats advance after Area win

The Dimmitt Bobcats beat the Abernathy Antelopes in the Area Championship game, 47-41, and will travel to Frenship to compete in the Regional quarterfinals against Shallowater. The Bobcats took the lead by a single point in the first quarter, added another point to the lead in the lead in the second quarter and inched up in the third and fourth quarters to take the win and advanced the team to the Regional quarterfinals.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is receiving an increase in reports of scams targeting clients who use Lone Star Cards and is urging Texans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefi ts to monitor purchases on their Lone Star Card through the Your Texas Benefits mobile app.

Swiftettes punch ticket to state

The Nazareth Swiftettes are headed for the Texas UIL State Basketball tournament at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, and was earned by winning two tough games at the Regional tournament this past weekend, defeating Whiteface in the semifinals and Claude for the championship title.

The Nazareth Swiftettes were back in action on Friday night when they played the Silvertion Owlettes in the Area playoff game at Amarillo High School. Naz varsity players Caroline Myrick, Tatum Peterson, Iris Schilderink, Harley Gerber and Presley Wheeler took the court to get the game underway in the first quarter.

Bobbies fall to Whirlwinds, 15-4

The Dimmitt Bobbies softball team fell to the Floydada Whirlwinds, 15-4, in their first game of the season. The Bobbies got off to slow start in the first innings, going scoreless until the fifth inning when they came through with four runs.

Bobbies score big win over Lady Hornets

The Dimmitt Bobbies came out swinging and scored a big victory over the Sudan Lady Hornets, 22-10. Dimmitt took the lead in the first inning, 4-3, but the second inning the offense brought in a huge 15 runs, to push the lead to 19-4.

Bobcats defeat Owls, 10-4

The Dimmitt Bobcats baseball team defeated the Hale Center Owls, 10-4. Neither team scored a run in the first two innings, but the Bobcats came through with three hits in both the third and fourth innings to take the lead 6-0.
