Swiftettes beat Lady Greyhounds, 45-32

The Nazareth Swiftettes scored a win against the Gruver Lady Greyhounds on Tuesday, 45-32. Gruver pushed out ahead in the first quarter by one point, 10-9, and held a two-point lead as the first half ended, 22-20.

Swifts advance to Bi-District Playoffs

The Nazareth Swifts clenched their final regular season game in two quarters against the Wildorado Mustangs, 72-7. The Swifts took charge the first quarter with a strong defense scoring 36 points while their defense held the Mustangs to zero. Will Young scored on a 25yard rush, with extra points by Brett Heitschmidt; Kayle Rogers scored on a 50-yard pass from Tanner Birkenfeld, with extra points by Heitschmidt; Birkenfeld scored on a 55-yard pass from Young; Heitschmidt scored on a 14-yard pass from Young as well as the extra points; and Alejandro Guerrero scored on a 7-yard rush, putting Nazareth up 36-0 going into the second quarter.

Swifts defeat Claude, 50-0

The Nazareth Swifts scored a big win over the Claude Mustangs, 50-0. The Swifts came in with 13 first downs, 20 rushes for 201 yards, four attempts/completions on receptions for 98 passing yards, five penalties for 45 yards, three sacks and 32 tackles.

RES Pumpkin Contest

Richardson Elementary School held their annual pumpkin decorating contact and had over 150 participants. The students did a great job decorating their pumpkins as their favorite storybook character. Aspecial thank you to everyone that participated and to the judges that came in to help pick the winners.

DMS Football vs Friona

The DMS Bobcats 7thgrade team lost their first game of the season to the Friona Chieftains, 52-22, settling into the remainer of the season 3-1. The leading rusher for the team was Victor Lozano with 68 yards and one touchdown, and a 1.2 point conversion and returning an who rushed for 68 yards scoring one touchdown, 1 2 pt.

DHS XC competes at Regionals

The UIL 3A Region 1 Cross Country Meet was held at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Tuesday’s chilly morning, with Dimmitt High School teams competing among more than 24-30 schools from the region for a chance to advance to state competition.

Naz XC state bound

Nazareth High School and Hart High School cross country teams competed in the UIL 1A Region 1 Championship Meet on Tuesday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. The Nazareth girls team qualified to compete at the state meet, placing third overall, as well as Bryson Brockman as an individual runner.

Hart defeats Lazbuddie, 61-16

The Hart Longhorns came with a big win over the Lazbuddie Longhorns this past Friday, 61-16. The Hart team came in with 43 plays for 344 yards and 17 first downs; completed one pass of three for 5 yards; had 40 rushing attempts for 339 yards; one turnover and one penalty for 10 yards.

Longhorns fall to Panthers, 54-8

The Hart Longhorns got their licks in early but couldn’t hang on as they dropped their district opener 54-8 on the road to the fifth ranked Whitharral Panthers. Whitharral started in good field position and worked their way into the red zone on their first possession, but Hart forced them to turn over on downs. Hart’s drive started deep in their territory and went nowhere, ending in a short punt that gave Whitharral the ball on the Longhorn 15 yard line.
