Dimmitt Robotics team member Isabel Gonzales

Dimmitt Robotics team member Isabel Gonzales is participating in the High School Aerospace Scholars program through a collaboration with NASA. She will be working on an intensive project on gamified virtual experience called Moonshot and will have the opportunity to work with NASA engineers and scientists in research, design and developing presentations in addition to learning about STEM careers. Upon completion, she will receive a certificate, NASA swag, the opportunity to visit the Johnson Space Center in Houston and potentially earn an internship.

WTAMU hosts Slice of Summer

High school students can get a taste of college life at West Texas A&M University’s Slice of Summer. The weekly series of events, hosted by WT Recreational Sports, is open to incoming freshmen through senior students.

State Finals June 9-10 Round Rock

The Nazareth Swifts walked away with the Regional Championship after defeating the Westbrook Wildcats in a two-game series held on Thursday and Friday at Frenship High School in Wolforth. The Swifts will be traveling to the State Championship playoffs on June 9-10 in Round Rock where they will faceoff with the Kennard Tigers from Region 3.

2021-22 Dimmitt High School Cheerleaders – Dimmitt HS cheerleader enjoyed their first day of a week-long cheer camp: Caitlan Olmos, Klancy Bruton, Nina Vasquez, Anayi Comparon, Rosalinda Comparon, Karla Perez, Kennia Silva, Kriselle Ramirez, Na’Khiyah Porras, Beatriz Lozona and Hannah Simpson (mascot). Krisse Bruton is the cheer sponsor.

Naz FFA Landry Kleman had a successful weekend at the Junior State Limousin Show. Kleman came in with a Division Champion and two Reserve Division Champions. He was also elected to serve on the Junior Board of Directors for the Texas Limousin Association.

At some point the rain will stop and people will have the opportunity to explore the Texas Panhandle for summer excursions. The great thing is, it can be done on day trips or a regular vacation.

Kleman named Legacy All-Star

The Texas Girls Coaches Association Track Committee selected Nazareth senior Emma Kleman as a 1a-4a Legacy All-Star among the 20 All-Stars from conferences 1-4 in track and field. Kleman won the state title in the 3200-meter run and was runner-up in the 1600-meter run. The TGCA is composed of track and field member coaches of the association and selections are made from nominations submitted by member coaches.
