AgriLife crop seminar set for Dec. 20

The AgriLife Crop Production and Protection Seminar hosted by the TAMU AgriLife Extension Service is set for Dec. 20 at the Castro Extension Office. The program is approved by TDA for five CEUs. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Naz, Dimmitt set to play in holiday tourneys

The Naz Swifts and Swiftettes and the Dimmitt Bobcats and Bobbies are scheduled to play in three big tournaments at the end of December. Dimmitt teams will be attending the 63rd Annual Caprock Classic set for Dec. 29-31 in Lubbock, with teams from across Texas and beyond competing.

Swifts win Bi-District, Area playoffs

The Nazareth Swifts advanced into the Area playoffs against Springlake Earth after a win over the Follett Panthers, 40-24. Nazareth won the Area game against Springlake, 6228, and will advance to the State Quarterfinals.
The Nazareth Swifts claimed a big win over Follett 40 -24 , giving them the Bi-District Championship and advancing them to the Area round. The Swifts will face Springlake Earth for the Area title on Friday at Petersburg. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Bobcats fall to Lobos, 53-41

The Dimmitt Bobcats faced the Levelland Lobos in the first basketball game of the same and lost that contest, 53-41. Levelland took charge in the first quarter and gained a seven-point lead over the Bobcats.

Bobbies fall to Lady Whitefaces, 46-36

The Dimmitt Bobbies lost to the Hereford Lady Whitefaces in their game on Friday, 46-36. Hereford took the lead in the first quarter of the game 9- 6, but the Bobbies battled in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Whitefaces, but still trailed 24-19 as the first half came to a close.

WTAMU horse judging wins two championships

The West Texas A&M University horse judging team won two championships at recent competitions. The team took top honors at the National Reining Championship on Nov. 2 and 3 and the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship on Nov. 5, both in Oklahoma City.
