Players, fans gear up for March Madness

The 2021 NCAA DI men's basketball tournament will be unlike any March Madness that has come before, with all games being played in Indiana.

DHS Bobbies Powerlifters compete at THSWPA Regionals

Nine Dimmitt powerlifting girls qualifiers traveled to Kermit this past week to compete in the THSWPA Region 1 Division 3 Regionals and returned with three medals and three state qualifiers.

DHS tennis scores well in Amarillo

The Dimmitt High School Tennis team played in Amarillo on March 2 and walked away with some solid wins. Luke and Sam Settle won top honors, placing first in boys doubles, beating Dalhart 8-4, and two separate Booker teams 8-4 and 8-4, winning the meet championship.

Bobbies place third in pool play

Bobbies v Seagraves The Dimmitt Bobbies fell to the Seagraves Lady Eagles 17-9 on Friday 25. in a pool play game. Seagraves scored first on a run in the first inning, and six more in the second inning, while the Bobbies add six runs in the second inning.

DHS competes at HS Acuff Relays

The Dimmitt Bobbies and Bobcats varsity and Bobcats JV track teams attended the HS Acuff Relays this past week at Lubbock Roosevelt High School. Schools competing included Dimmitt, Idalou, Roosevelt, Smyer and Sands. Dimmitt varsity boys team placed third overall behind Idalou and Roosevelt.

Bobcats claim three big victories

The Dimmitt Bobcats baseball continues to play well both offensively and defensively, beating the Sanford-Fritch Eagles 8-6, the Wellington Skyrockets 10-3 , and the Slaton Tigers 17-2. Bobcats v Sanford-Fritch The Bobcats took a solid win over the Sanford-Fritch Eagles, 8-6.

Bobcats edge out Eagles, 2-1

It was a battle from beginning to end on the mound, as the Dimmitt Bobcats claimed a victory over the Canyon Eagles 2-1 last Monday. The Bobcats’ pitchers allowed only four hits to Canyon. Dimmitt got things started in the first inning when Julius Carpio singles on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Bobcats fall to Mustangs in Quarterfinals

The Dimmitt Bobcats ended their run in the playoffs, falling to the Shallowater Mustangs in the Quarterfinals, 51-28. Shallowater took an early lead in the first quarter, 13- 8, and continued to press on offense, closing the first half leading 26-13.

Bobcats pick up four big wins

Dimmitt v Floydada The Dimmitt Bobcats won their game against the Floydada Whirlwinds, 14-7. The Bobcats opened up scoring in the second inning, when Justice Valasquez drew a walk, scoring one run.
