Swiftettes Clench Semi-Finals 29th trip to State Championship

The Nazareth Swiftettes are on their way to the State Championship after beathing the Westbrook Lady Cats in the State Semi-Finals, 48-17, at Frenship High School on Friday. The Swiftettes will be making their way to the Alamodome to play for top honors against Dodd City on March 10 at 10 a.m.

DHS Bobbies Powerlifters compete at THSWPA Regionals

Nine Dimmitt powerlifting girls qualifiers traveled to Kermit this past week to compete in the THSWPA Region 1 Division 3 Regionals and returned with three medals and three state qualifiers.

The Dimmitt High School Tennis team played in Amarillo on March 2 and walked away with some solid wins. Luke and Sam Settle won top honors, placing first in boys doubles, beating Dalhart 8-4, and two separate Booker teams 8-4 and 8-4, winning the meet championship.

Bobbies v Seagraves The Dimmitt Bobbies fell to the Seagraves Lady Eagles 17-9 on Friday 25. in a pool play game. Seagraves scored first on a run in the first inning, and six more in the second inning, while the Bobbies add six runs in the second inning.

DHS competes at HS Acuff Relays

The Dimmitt Bobbies and Bobcats varsity and Bobcats JV track teams attended the HS Acuff Relays this past week at Lubbock Roosevelt High School. Schools competing included Dimmitt, Idalou, Roosevelt, Smyer and Sands. Dimmitt varsity boys team placed third overall behind Idalou and Roosevelt.

It was a battle from beginning to end on the mound, as the Dimmitt Bobcats claimed a victory over the Canyon Eagles 2-1 last Monday. The Bobcats’ pitchers allowed only four hits to Canyon. Dimmitt got things started in the first inning when Julius Carpio singles on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The Dimmitt Bobcats ended their run in the playoffs, falling to the Shallowater Mustangs in the Quarterfinals, 51-28. Shallowater took an early lead in the first quarter, 13- 8, and continued to press on offense, closing the first half leading 26-13.
