STEP UP TEXAS Task Force meets in Dimmitt

The STEP UP TEXAS Task Force convened at West Texas Coffee in Dimmitt, for their third meeting, led by Hale County Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Eddie Subealdea and his team, Alison Tipton and Elizabeth Castillo (TTAPS).
How much fun is this!! The Castro County VFD firefighters had their first practices this past weekend for the Pumper Team races with, as their Facebook post said, “Some dry runs, some runs with water. Some bad runs, some good runs.” The date of the races will be announced and likely be in early May. Visit their Facebook page to see a video of practice.

The Hart Robotics Team headed off to the state competition last Wednesday. Members of the team were Rito Rodriguez, Diego Longoria, Carolina Flores, Leslie Dominguez, America Flores and Coach Don Bell.

Nazareth Robotics team#16617 won the state title at the UIL1-4 Division on Thursday. The meet featured 24 1A-4A teams from the five Texas areas. The event was held at the Cadence Bank Center in Belton.

Governor Greg Abbott today celebrated Texas as the nation’s undisputed jobs leader following the release of February employment numbers showing jobs surging in Texas as employers added 49,800 jobs in February. The not seasonably adjusted rate came in at 4.4 percent.
