Bobcats fall to Levelland Lobos, 81-41

The Dimmitt Bobcats fell to the Levelland Lobos in their season opener this past Friday, 81-41. The Bobcats battled the first two quarters to close out the first half of the game leading by two points, 32-30, but struggled with shooting in the second half to give the Lobos the win.

TSU to hold first 2024 presidential debate

Texas State University-San Marcos will be the first Texas university to hold a presidential debate. The debate is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2024, and is the first of four for the general election.

HPWD adopts rule changes at November meeting

The High Plains Water District (HPWD) adopted rules changes required brought into play by the 88th Texas Legislature HB 2443. All groundwater conservation districts were required to adopt the new rule by Dec. 1 and implement the provision.

Mexico rejects Texas right to deport illegal aliens

The Mexican government protested the Texas Legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 4 — which creates a state crime for entering the state illegally from Mexico and allows state and local authorities to deport undocumented immigrants.
