Abbot signs bill banning vax mandates

Gov. Greg Abbott signed legislation banning COVID19 vaccine mandates for private employers this past Friday. Senate Bill 7 will prohibit employers in the private sector from taking “adverse action” against an employee who does not want to get a COVID-19 shot.
The Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Blessed 5, a new children’s and women’s western apparel and accessories business owned by Pedro and Ceclia Quintana. The business is located at 113 E. Bedford in Dimmitt and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
