Hunter safety course set for April 9

Instructors from the Texas Parks & Wildlife will be teaching a Hunter Education Course on April 9.
The course is designed for novice or young hunters ages 9 years and above.
The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation.

The DHS Bobbies Powerlifting team won the THSWPA 3AS Regional team honors at the regional meet this past weekend in Shamrock and advanced four lifters to the state competition coming up in Corpus Christi on March 16-19. Bobbies qualifying for state include sophomore Kimberly Solis, 198 wt. class; junior Allysun Jones, 259+ wt. class; sophomore NaKhiyah Porras, 220 wt. class; and senior Yazmin Barron, 198 wt. class. The Dimmitt Bobbies Powerlifting team won the Texas High School Womens Powerlifting Association Regional 3AS team honors and will have four lifters advancing to the THSWPA state championships. The regional meet was held in Shamrock this past weekend.
