State gains jobs, unemployment rate loses ground in January

In January, Texas added 29,000 total nonagricultural jobs, making gains in 20 of the last 21 months, though the unemployment rate increased slightly from the December figure of 4.2% to a January figure of 4.8%.

Powerlifters hit last meets before regionals

The Dimmitt Bobcats powerlifters attended the Friona Powerlifting Championships on Feb. 19., competing against 112 lifters and placing sixth as team.
Top lifters for the Bobcats were Gerardo Gonzalez, who placed second in the 220 wt. class, Sabian Martinez, third in the 165 wt.
