Bobcats battle for top district spot

The Dimmitt Bobcats fell to the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes, 77-47. The Bobcats shot for19/44 (43%) field goals with 4/18 (22%) 3-point shots, and 5/14 (36%) free throws. They collected 22 rebounds, eight assists, seven steals and one block.

Swiftettes near end of regular season

The Nazareth Swiftettes scored a handy win against the Hartley Lady Tigers on Friday, 66-17. The Swiftettes held the Lady Tigers scoreless the first quarter and put 14 points on the points to take the lead, 14-0.

Dimmitt Cross Country/Track

Dimmitt Cross Country/Track runners Azariah Garcia and Adan Sanchez participated in the Texas Tech Under Armour High School Classic 2022 on Jan. 22-23.

WTAMU Upward Bound selects ambassadors

The WTAMU TRIO Upward Bound program selected the leadership ambassadors, with several from Dimmitt High School. Ambassadors include Heidi Cantu, Melanie Esqueda, Martin Rodriguez, Julie Santana, Xitlalic Villarreal, Os valdo Espinoza-Martinez, Masaratu Sheriff, Shaleigh Long and Omar Sanchez.

Pet Talk

People have been tossing table scraps to dogs since the first canine bellied up to the village campfire with a pleading look in his eyes. But sharing meals with your pooch fell out of favor once commercial dog food hit the shelves. Why is that? Dogs are meant to eat our scraps.

Gerber named to LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Blakely Gerber, 2019 graduate of Nazareth High School and marketing major at Angelo State University, was among more than 170 ASU student-athletes to be recognized for their work in the classroom by being named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2021 fall semester.

Flash back 56 years to January of 1966. ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ reached #1 on record charts and Nancy Sinatra (daughter of Frank Sinatra) was a pop music celebrity. I can still see Nancy dressed in Mod outfits with fashionable white Go-go boots.

What is Repentance?

Repentance is a common theme throughout the New Testament and central to the gospel message. John the Baptist was the first to declare “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand! (Matt 3:2).” Jesus echoed this charge in Matt 4:17.
