Abbott names Scott as Texas SOS

Governor Greg Abbott on Friday appointed John Scott as the Texas Secretary of State. The secretary serves as Chief Election Officer for Texas, assisting county election officials and ensuring the uniform application and interpretation of election laws throughout Texas.

Dimmitt author Randall Whaley recently released his latest book “From the Back of a Horse, the third of a trilogy. Whaley, who spends his retirement years writing and playing the guitar, grew up in the Texas Panhandle.

Bobcats lose to Wildcats, 62-6

The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a big loss to the Canadian Wildcats, 62-6 this past Friday. Canadian took a big lead in the first quarter scoring on an 84-yard kickoff return, a 5-yard run, a 1-yard run, a 32-yard pass and 2-yard pass, to push out ahead 34-0.

The Dimmitt Bobcats had a bumpy ride in their game against the Childress Bobcats, falling 70-0 in conference play. The Childress offense and defense were in full force holding the Bobcats to no gain throughout the game. As of this game, Childress was undefeated this season.
