Castro County Crops Conference on Jan. 9

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be hosting the Castro County Crops Conference on Jan. 9. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at West Texas Coffee, with coffee and donuts sponsored by North Gin. Lunch at noon will be sponsored by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance.

Dixie Chicks founder killed in car crash

One of the founding members of the Dixie Chicks, Laura Lynch, was killed in a car crash in El Paso this past Friday. Lynch, 65, was killed around 5:45 p.m. on Friday on Highway 62, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
