The Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce held its ribbon cutting for Simply Grace Aesthetics and Wellness on Nov. 15. Owner Karis Farris was joined by friends and family at the event. Farris, who is a registered nurse with experience in rural healthcare, emergency medicine and school health, is taking her experience into skincare and vitalized health at her business which opened in August. The business is located at 208 West Bedford St. in Dimmitt.

TSU to hold first 2024 presidential debate

Texas State University-San Marcos will be the first Texas university to hold a presidential debate. The debate is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2024, and is the first of four for the general election.

HPWD adopts rule changes at November meeting

The High Plains Water District (HPWD) adopted rules changes required brought into play by the 88th Texas Legislature HB 2443. All groundwater conservation districts were required to adopt the new rule by Dec. 1 and implement the provision.

Mexico rejects Texas right to deport illegal aliens
