Cell-cultivated meat labeling under fire

Select U.S. restaurants have begun serving laboratory- grown chicken after the USDA gave final approval in June for a few California-based companies to begin selling labproduced chicken across the country.
Castro County 4-H’ers had a meeting led by STEM Ambassador Spencer Acker who introduced the group to robotics. The group saw a robot in motion and then divided into teams who were challenged to build a robo-animal – ending up with a giraffe, a dog and snake. The teams also raced to see who could build the highest tower. Castro 4-H is working to put teams together for the Texas Tech GEAR Robotics competition. FSA county committee election gets underway

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Castro County FSA office or postmarked by Dec. 4.

ERCOT cancels procurement of additional capacity

ERCOT has canceled the procurement from the Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking additional capacity due to the limited response from the market, which included only a small 11.1 MW of potentially eligible capacity, according to a news release.
