Employers looking for bright, resourceful Buffs to join their companies can register now for several upcoming career fairs at West Texas A&M University. WT’s Office of Career and Professional Development will host four job and career fairs during the spring semester.

Nazareth FFA Livestock Judging Team Updates

The Nazareth FFA Livestock Judging Team placed 6th at the Fort Worth Livestock Show on Sunday. Brett Heitschmidt was fifth high individual at the contest. Other members of the team are Tanner Wethington, Iris Schilderink, Alli Sanders and Dayson Schacher. Austin Heck, Naz Ag, traveled with the team to Fort Worth.

Settles named to OSU President’s Honor Roll

Sydney and Sam Settle were both named to the President’s Honor Roll at Oklahoma State University for Fall 2021. Both are graduates of Dim Both are graduates of Dimmitt High School - Sydney in 2018 and Sam in 2021.

Isaac Barron, 2018 graduate of Hart High School, graduated from Eastern New Mexico University earning a degree in electronics engineering technology/computer engineering. He was among the 2021 fall graduates at the commencement ceremony held at Greyhound Arena on Dec. 11.

Hegar distributes $993M in tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $992.9 million in local sales tax allocations for January, 26.8 percent more than in January 2021.

New outdoor dogs law in effect

The Safe Outdoor Dogs Act went into effect on Tuesday and anyone who unlawfully restrains a dog could face criminal penalties in Texas. The new law passed the legislature in October during a special session and Gov.
