HPWD to hold hearings on proposed DFCs

In accordance with Texas Water Code, the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District (HPWD) Board of Directors is seeking public comment on proposed Desired Future Conditions (DFCs) for Groundwater Management Area (GMA) 1 & 2.

ENMU Dean’s List

Two Dimmitt High School graduates have been named to the Eastern New Mexico University Spring 2021 Dean’s List. Arien Mendoza and Isabel Vargas both earned their way onto the list. To be named, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a GPA of 3.25 or greater.

Texas passes gun carry bill

The Texas Legislature, both the House and Senate came to an agreement on the language of HB 1927 last week and passed the bill that would allow Texans age 21-plus, to carry a handgun as of Sept. 1, concealed or openly in a holster in non-prohibited public places.

Cemetery Association to hold annual meeting
