Getting ready for a vacation can be very stressful. There is a lot to do and organize for those few days of relaxation in a new place. Aside from packing and quadruple-checking luggage, there are things to be done around the house before leaving. Make a check list so nothing is forgotten.

FCA Summer Camp Night set for June 27

The Panhandle Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be holding a Summer Camp Night event at the Dimmitt High School football field from 6-9 p.m. on June 27.

Fish Donation to Sheffy Park

Zach and Sheri Smith donated a 1-acre package of fish to restore the lake at Sheffy Park in June. The package included 750 Bluegill, 200 Bass, 10 pounds of minnows, 200 Redear, 100 hybrid Bluegill and 300 Castfish.

Supreme Court rules NCAA violated antitrust laws

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) went too far in blocking some education-related aid for student athletes. The decision comes as athletes struggle to preserve amateur status.

Nazareth student awarded America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship

Local Nazareth High School student, Kari Schulte, has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship from America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, sponsored by Bayer Fund. In the fall, Schulte will study Animal Science at Kansas State University.

State FFA Convention set for July 5-9

The 93rd Texas FFA State Convention is scheduled for July 5-9 in Fort Worth, Texas. The deadline for convention registration is 11:59 p.m. on June 21. No changes to registration (including drops) will be allowed after that point for any reason and invoices will be final.
