DHS Golf competes at District meet in Lubbock

The DHS Bobbies Golf team competed at the District meet in Lubbock, finishing fourth place. Members of the team: Fabiola Perez, Alyssa Monreal, Amy Oviedo, Victoria Hernandez and Shaylagh Henriquez. The DHS Bobcats Golf Team attended the District meet in Lubbock, finishing third place.

Bobcats top Wildcats, 5-4

The Dimmitt Bobcats walked away with a win over the River Road Wildcats, 5-4. Neither team scored in the first two innings, but River Road came with a run in the third and fourth to take the lead, 2-0.

4-H and FFA Shoot-out

Harrison Meador shot 98/100 in trap to compete in the age Division II finals where he placed 2nd out of 264 competitors. Oliver Meador shot an 83/100 and though he didn’t make the finals, he was in the top 15 percent of all shooters in his age division.

Bobbies lose to Lady Cats

The Dimmitt Bobbies dropped a conference game to the Littlefield Lady Cats, 11-1. “Dimmitt started strong in the first inning keeping the score 0 to 0,” said Coach Vicky Ruiz. “When we headed to the second ending, our third out we struggled with errors.

Bobbies lose to Lamesa

The Dimmitt Bobbies fell to the Lamesa Lady Tornadoes 13-0. “This was one of our toughest games,” said Coach Vicky Ruiz. “Lamesa is a really great team. We will have to work on our hitting, so that next time we will be able to put pressure on them when we have runners on.

With Kids Inc basketball getting underway

With Kids Inc basketball getting underway, the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt Missions Committee was able to donate 25 basketballs for teams to use this season. For information on being a part of the Kids Inc. program, volunteering or donating, contact Benny Navarro.

All-District Player

DHS Bobbies Michelle Ontiveros, #24, a point guard for Bobbies basketball, was selected as an All-District player.

Bobcats fall to Bushland

The Dimmitt Bobcats dropped a game to the Bushland Falcons, 9-2. The Bobcats struggle to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Bushland. The Falcons got the jump on the Bobcats in the first inning, surging out ahead 5-1.

DHS tracksters advance to Area competition

The Dimmitt Bobbies and Bobcats track teams had a good run at the District meet numerous athletes advancing to the Area track meet on April 15 in Denver City.
