State eviction diversion program extended

A state eviction diversion program launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been extended, according to a new emergency order from the Texas Supreme Court. The diversion program was set to expire on July 27. The new order extends it until Oct. 1. Gov.

Omar Soto-Chavira, 22, was arrested in Levelland, Texas following an 11-hour standoff with law enforcement and the shooting death of one Lubbock County Sheriff’s officer and wounding of four other law enforcement officers. The confrontation began a little after 1 p.m.

It was horrible. There I was, inside Rhoads Memorial Library, about to unlock the front door, when I saw it: movement on the floor by a dot no larger than a quarter. Closer inspection revealed it was a frog, okay, probably a toad.
