San Juan D. Martinez, 82, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 in Lubbock. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:30AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Nino and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 6:00PM at the church with vigil service to follow.

Nancy Wescott, 88, formally of Hart, Texas, passed away on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, in Amarillo.

Dale Maxwell, 89 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, in Dimmitt, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with local arrangements being under the care of Colonial Funeral Home.

Donald J. Wright, 87 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021. Celebration of Donald’s life will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt with his son, the Rev. Jim Wright, and the Reverends T.C. Broom and Rusty Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at their residence and a public visitation at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.

Pete DeLeon Garza, age 72, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Nov. 7, 1948, in Asherton, Texas to parents Antonio and Josefina Garza. Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated by Father Jonathon Frels, followed by a burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Palestine, under the direction of Herrington/ Land of Memory. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. followed by visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Robert Shane Horton went to his final resting place on Nov. 1, 2021, with his loving wife Debbye by his side. Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m., at Thousand Oaks Bible Church, 15801 Jones Maltsberger Road , San Antonio, TX 78247. He was born in Tulia, Texas on Nov. 7, 1956.

With love and gratitude for everyone around her, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Kelley Armstrong, of Hart and Lubbock, Texas, lived a long and full life. She passed away peacefully just a few days after her 93rd birthday on Aug. 30, 2021. Jackie was born in Texarkana, Texas on Aug. 27, 1928, the third child of four born to Ferris E. and Muriel Power Kelley. A wonderful, loving mother, beloved grandmother and devoted wife to her late husband Paul W. Armstrong Jr., Jackie leaves a legacy of kindness, good humor and unconditional love for her family.

Lauro Jackson, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Delphine Ruiz officiating and burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Gladys M. Fortenberry, 69 of Nazareth, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 in Tulia. Nicholas Gerber, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld and Deacon Joe Hochstein as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Church under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church with vigil to follow.

Daniel Lee Nelson, 85 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with James Jones and Bailey Chisum officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
