DHS, NHS runners advance to XC state

The Region 1 XC Championships were held this past Monday in Lubbock, with runners from Dimmitt, Nazareth and Hart all competing. Three runners qualified for state and will advance: Chloe Birkenfeld and Bryson Brockman, Nazareth High School, and Azariah Gonzalez from Dimmitt High School.

Swifts edge out Kangaroos

The Nazareth Swifts won a nail biter against the Kress Kangaroos in the final seconds of the game, 41-40, this past Friday, advancing them to a spot in the playoffs. The Swifts scored the first down on a 1- yard rush and touchdown by Luke Schulte, putting them on the board 6-0.

Sifuentez wins MMA bout in Oklahoma

Dimmitt Pro MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter Isaac Sifuentez traveled to Woodward, Oklahoma to participate in the Super Fight Night and came out with the big win. Sifuentez took on hometown fighter Jarrett Walden and won the fight by applying a Guillotine Choke on his opponent in the first 26 seconds of the first round.

Cross Country teams bound for regionals

Dimmitt, Nazareth and Hart High School cross country teams will be bound for the Regional XC meets in Lubbock, with all schools qualifying both boys and girls runners/teams. Dimmitt varsity boys placed first at the District 3A meet on Oct.

Bobcats lose to Wildcats, 62-6

The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a big loss to the Canadian Wildcats, 62-6 this past Friday. Canadian took a big lead in the first quarter scoring on an 84-yard kickoff return, a 5-yard run, a 1-yard run, a 32-yard pass and 2-yard pass, to push out ahead 34-0.

Bobcats fall to Childress, 70-0

The Dimmitt Bobcats had a bumpy ride in their game against the Childress Bobcats, falling 70-0 in conference play. The Childress offense and defense were in full force holding the Bobcats to no gain throughout the game.

DHS Band Scores Superior

The Dimmitt Bobcat Marching Band scored a 1st Division Superior rating with "all 1's" at the Texas UIL Marching Evaluation on Oct. 16 in Amarillo, qualifying them to compete in the Area A Marching Contest at Lowery Field in Lubbock this Saturday, Oct 23. The band will perform at :45. The Bobcat band is directed by DHS Music Director John Zalma.
