Texas leads nation in jobs added

Unemployment rates were higher in December in 15 states, lower in 1 state, and stable in 34 states and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported, with Texas leading the nation in job gains. Governor Greg Abbott celebrated Texas being the top state during 2023.

That was some blizzard we survived last week, along with the long-lasting, sub-freezing temperatures afterward. Since we are always closed on Mondays here at Rhoads Memorial Library, we missed the brunt of the storm as we stayed home. The day after the blizzard, we opened one hour later at 10 a.m.
