The Dimmitt Bobcats lost to the Friona Chieftains in an away conference game, 14-62. The Chieftains took charge in the first quarter, putting 28 points on the board and holding the Bobcats to zero points.

The Hart Longhorns lost a game to the Lubbock All Saints Episcopal Patriots, 64-24 Ṫhe Patriots got scoring underway in the first quarter with a touchdown, to take the lead 6-0. The Longhorns came back with a touchdown on a run by Ely Hernandez, tying the score, 6-6.

The Hart Longhorns had a tough loss to the Hedley Owls in their second game of the season, falling 39-0. The Longhorns had 50 plays and six first downs for 119 yards on offense, with 11 of 16 passing completions for 57 yards and 34 rushes for 63 yards, five penalties for 40 yards.

Area schools compete at Lubbock Invitational XC

Dimmitt, Hart and Nazareth cross country teams competed at the Lubbock Invitational Cross Country this past Saturday. The event was held at Mae Simmons Park. Dimmitt varsity boys com Dimmitt varsity boys competed in the 3A Men’s 5,000 Meter run against 154 runners from 22 schools.

DHS, HHS compete at Plainview XC meet

Dimmitt and Hart XC teams competed at the Plainview Invitation Cross Country Meet held at Running Waters Draw Regional Park this past Saturday. Divisions were split between 1A-2A; 3A-4A; and 5A-6A. The junior varsity competitors ran in all-inclusive divisions.

Dimmitt had a tough homecoming game this past Friday, falling to Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles 56-6. The Eagles got scoring underway in the first quarter with a touchdown on a 4-yard run and kick, putting them in the lead, 7-0.

TTU begins search for MSU president

The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) Board of Regents and Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., named a search committee on Sept. 16 to assist in finding the next president of Midwestern State University (MSU Texas).

Bobcats defeat Sunray, 30-12

The Dimmitt Bobcats came in with a big win over the Sunray Bobcats at the homecoming game on Friday. Sunray got the action started with a touchdown on an 18-yard pass in the first quarter, no extra points, putting them up 0-6 over Dimmitt.
