Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Bhaskar Adusupalli, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld and Deacon Joe Hochstein as celebrants. Salley Carrasco, 65 of Hart, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants; burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery. Betty Ann Touchstone, 78 of Houston, Texas and formerly of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. T.C. Broom officiating. Public viewing will be held on Monday, Nov. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no family visitation and viewing will be done on a come and go basis. Face masks will be required. The family of Walter Louis Verkamp will gather to pray the rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by family visitation beginning at 8 p.m.. A celebration of his life of 57 years will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, with burial to follow in the Idalou Cemetery. He passed on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Juanita “Wela” Gauna, 80 of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. J.A. (Jim) Bagwell, 93, passed away November 5, 2020, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born May 3, 1927, near Dimmitt, Texas, to Jim and Robertha (Wood) Bagwell. He spent his early school years at the Bethel Community school and then attended junior high and high school in Dimmitt. His senior year he played center on the football team, and those football games were some of his fondest memories.
