Swiftettes defeat Lady Lynx, 37-35

The Nazareth Swiftettes battled their way to a victory against the Spearman Lady Lynx, 37-35. Nazareth took a three-point lead in the first quarter, 7-4, and continue to make gains in the second quarter, closing the first half out, 20-13.

Amarillo College to bring back sports

The Amarillo College Board of Regents voted to bring back college sports to the school beginning in 2022-2023. Amarillo College, which has not participated in collegiate sports since the mid-1980s, will bring back baseball, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s cross country.

Swifts edge out Falcons, 51-47

The Nazareth Swifts took on the Bushland Falcons, winning 51-47. The Falcons claimed the first quarter, outshooting the Swifts 16-11, but the Swifts bounced back in the second quarter, taking the lead by a single point, 23-22, as the first half came to a close.

Swifts defeat Bobcats, 39-36

The Nazareth Swifts defeated the Dimmitt Bobcats in an in-county game, 39-36. The Bobcats took the lead in the first quarter by eight point, 13-5, but the Swifts offensive came back in the second quarter, to narrow the Dimmitt lead to 15-14 at the close of the first half.

Swifts defeat Elks, 51-39

The Nazareth Swifts claimed a win over the Stratford Elks, 51-29. Nazareth took charge of the first quarter outshooting the Elks by 13 points to take the lead, 18-5. The second quarter saw the Elks offense battling to narrow lead but closing the first half out still trailing the Swifts 28-18.

Swift narrowly fall to Hornets

The Nazareth Swifts (1A) were edged out by the Tulia Hornets (3A) in a nail-biter contest, 58-56. The Swifts took an early lead in the first quarter, 16-12, and continue to gain on the Hornets in the second quarter to close the first half ahead, 32-25.

Naz Swifts earn All District honors

The Nazareth Swifts ended their football season with a 6-5, 2-2 record and several players making the All-District list.

Swifts fall to Canyon, 66-59

The Nazareth Swifts dropped a game to the Canyon, 66-59. Canyon took an early lead in the first quarter, 21-7. The Swifts offense went into action, outscoring the Canyon team and narrowing their lead to 32-23. Nazareth continue to fire away at the boards, again narrowing the gap to 47-40.

The Nazareth Swifts dropped a game to the Canyon, 66-59. Canyon took an early lead in the first quarter, 21-7. The Swifts offense went into action, outscoring the Canyon team and narrowing their lead to 32-23. Nazareth continue to fire away at the boards, again narrowing the gap to 47-40.

Ladyhorns fall to Lady Eagles

The Hart Ladyhorns were defeated by the Plainview Christian Academy Lady Eagles, 38-27. The Ladyhorns took the lead in the first quarter, 14-11 and held onto the lead through the second quarter, closing the first half out, 20-16.
