Texas hunting, fishing licenses on sale

WBU alumna scores gold medal at Olympics

Tamyra Mensah-Stock, a Wayland Baptist University alumna, won the Women’s 68 Kg Freestyle Wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics. She is the first Black woman to win a gold medal for Team USA freestyle wrestling and only the second American woman to win Olympic gold in women's wrestling since the event was added in 2004.

Castro County 4-H shooters Harrison and Oliver Meador

Castro County 4-H shooters Harrison and Oliver Meador competed at the AIM Grand National Youth Championships at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois. Worth areas. Harrison was on a sub-junior team with 4-H members from Snyder, Waco and Fort Worth areas representing Texas. They placed second in the singles competition. Oliver was Pre-Sub Junior Runner Up Champion in International Wobble. Harrison tied for 8th in sub-junior singles, shooting 197/200 targets, and Oliver was lOth in pre-sub junior, shooting 188/200 targets, against competitors from all over the nation. Next up for the pair is the ATA Grand American.

Swifts gain new head football coach

Nazareth sports will see a new coach in action with the arrival of Tyler Goodwin. Coach Goodwin graduated from Texas Tech University with a wildlife and ranch management degree and later enter an online teaching certification school to acquire a teaching certification.
